This will be the first time ever leaving him for 2 weeks. I want to spend Christmas with my sister. How can I tell him without him getting upset with me?
Why wouldn’t he be able to go too?
I would never go away for 2 weeks to visit family without my husband, but especially during the holiday’s. How rude would that be?
You have issues in your marriage if you didn’t tell him the second you talked about it. Don’t you have open communication? It isn’t the worst thing in the world to go on trips without your spouse if they have to work or something. Happens to us all the time – the difference is that we plan them together by talking – you are obviously missing that piece so I suspect you’re screwed.
This is a Win-Win situation here. You get to be with your sister who I’m sure lives a distance away and renew your bond without your husband taking away some attention. Your husband gets to chill at home or wherever and relax (hopefully not with someone of the opposite ***.) After the two weeks go by, both of you should probaby be missing each other and everything should be lovely. But when your husband wants to go to a Detroit Lions football game on Thanksgiving with just the fella’s, don’t get mad at him.
THERE IS so much wrong with this situation and you know it otherwise you wouldnt have a problem telling him.
however if that is your desire i would suggest asking him if he would mind and being very respectful with your request as this really is inappropriate, when you married him you loosened the ties to your own family and yoked yourself to this man.
as for the content of the conversation you may want to highlights the benefits to him if this was to happen.

Why wouldn’t you be inviting him? I would absolutely **** to be away from my husband for two weeks, let alone around the holidays.

Sounds a little selfish not to include him in your decision making process.

Just ask him if he wants to go. Most likely he’ll say no anyway

Sounds selfish, tell your sister to bring her *** to your house, leaving your husband alone for Christmas are you kidding me
