I’ve had my spayed cat for over a year(since she was 4 months old. This is her second Christmas.) Anyway lately she’s been really excited! Jumping everywhere, attacking my hands, running under furniture and the tree, knocking over Christmas decoration stuff. Normally she wouldn’t do that. So what would this mean? I find it funny and cute and I don’t get after her because she’s not a dog so she won’t understand what’s wrong and what’s right.

I couldn’t find anything that susffests that there is anything remotely like catnip that would make your cat act this way at Christmas time. Unless she knows that you have purchased some catnip toys for her Christmas. I think animals in general just sense our stress or emotions during times like the holidays season. My cat has been a bit daft too.

If she usually goes outside when the weather is warmer, she’s probably just energetic from being cooped up inside.

Think your cat is excited because of all the Christmas decorations, lights etc and a lot of movement with those putting up the decorations.
First year she just wasn’t all that impressed. This being her second year she’s more giddy with her running here, running there, bumping things over, going under the tree and all the excitement going on, getting ready for Christmas.
Could be feeling left out in the attention department. Well, she certainly has been noticed. She sure is going to make her presents known. Our kitty’s are good for that. Cut her off with the catnip. She probably has had too much “Spirits.”
I can picture your cat running around your house like a crazy woman. Can’t say she isn’t getting fit and trim with all that exercise. Nothing’s going to stop her now.
An extra treat here and there might sooth her excitement.
Have A Good Christmas if you still have a tree left.
